Remember when you first engaged in internet marketing? Like most beginners, you were full of energy and read every single blog, article, and e-book you could find on the subject. The odds are high that the first topic you were introduced to was traffic generation. After all, what good is a well designed website if it is receiving few visitors?
After reading and studying internet marketing, you have probably found that traffic generation is still the hardest factor to master. SEO strategies are available everywhere, niche selection is very easy, and finding affiliate programs to promote is a no brainer. The hardest part of internet marketing is, and will always be, generating enough traffic to make the effort worthwhile.
I have been in that situation before. That is why I dedicated my time and effort towards developing reliable traffic generating strategies. As a thank you to all of the forums and blogs that helped me get started, I would like to share these strategies with you. Read through them, understand them, and start implementing then today.
Strategy #1: Syndicate Your Content
Many internet marketers fail to maximize the content that they produce for their websites. Imagine writing five high quality articles during the week (one per day, not including saturday or sunday). The traditional thing to do will be to submit them to a set of article directories and gain five nice backlinks as well as a bit of extra traffic. This is fine, but why not maximize the potential of these articles and generate ten times as much traffic?
The first thing to do is rewrite each article once. Try to do this manually, as it produces the best work. If you prefer to use an article spinner, make sure you proofread and edit the new article to ensure it is high quality. You now have a new set of five articles to submit yet again. Five new backlinks and even more traffic is now headed your way.
The next thing to do is select two or three of these articles which you feel extra passionate and well versed about. Edit each of them so that they are longer and much more informative. Spruce them up with images and visual aids that make them appealing to readers. Once completed, contact blog owners in your niche and inquire about submitting a guest post. Bloggers have different policies, but you will be surprised to find that most will welcome any high quality blog post that is useful for their readers. Impress them, and they will feel obligated to share your writing.
Finally, use all of the articles to build your website’s authority. Purchase a PDF creator or use any of the various open source PDF creators and make an e-book that basically compiles all of the articles, with a brief explanation of each. Once this e-book is created, contact others in your niche and ask them to read and review it on their blogs.
Most peers are friendly and willing to help, which means a download link as well as a link back to your website. The power of releasing this e-book is tremendous for your website traffic and authority. Do not forget to include links to specific pages on your website within the e-book.
The Power Of Forums
It is common to underestimate the power of forums for traffic generation. The idea of joining a forum, spending enough time to gain credibility, and posting a link in your signature might seem like a waste of time that does not have enough benefits to justify the results. This is not the case if done properly.
Become involved in three to five forums that are well established within your niche market. Spend a few weeks writing and responding to forum posts, and establish yourself as an informed individual. Remember that the members of this forum are prime targets to send to your traffic. They are extremely interested in your niche and are actively seeking information on it, which is why they joined the forum.
Once you feel you are ready, share a link or two back to your website. Do not link directly to your homepage, as this might come off as spammy. Instead, pick an article or page on your website that you honestly believe provides high quality information that forum users are seeking. You might not capture everyone’s attention, but out of those that you do, you will find individuals who will share the link with others via social bookmarking, Twitter, and on other forums related to your niche.
Participate In Ad Swapping
Depending on your niche, ad swapping may be a great way of generating additional traffic. The basic concept of ad swapping is to share a link to your website with another individual who also has a website that is related to your niche. This will directly increase your traffic because that individual’s website visitors will trust the recommendation. Likewise, you will also host a link to their website.
Selecting what link to share is a crucial part of this process. Ideal links would include an informative article on your website, a download page for a useful e-book, etc.
Start Implementing These Today
These are the three strategies you can use to start improving your websites traffic today. You can settle for a few backlinks per week and a minimal increase of traffic, or you can super charge your results using these easy to implement strategies.
